Since 2016, we have hosted 6 events with the sole purpose to combine our yearly fundraising drive with informative and entertaining ambiance in effort to bring young people to connect, share, and make a difference…

BLACK & WHITE BALL 2020

We believe that the youth is the hope for the future and that education is the key that unlocks great opportunities. Through our annual fundraising, our goal is to raise funds that will cover basic school needs for underprivileged kids in Rwanda.

Over the past three years we have raised funds to pay tuition, health insurance, room and board for 22 underprivileged orphans in Rwanda to attend school and other accommodation needed in their daily activities. We would like to pay for more kids, however funds are still a big challenge.

This year we are organizing a black and white gala on December 28th of 2019 in Dallas, Texas and we are expecting to have 200 attendees. Our main goal is to combine our yearly fundraising drive with informative and entertaining ambiance in effort to bring young people to connect, share, and make a difference.

One of the main drives of fundraising is attracting donors, and we hope that you will be able to join our movement and help us cover travel expenses for some of influencers such as Rwandan artists who live in the US and Canada in hope to attract a bigger crowd with their presence. We believe that if these influencers can attend our event, we would be able to meet our monetary and publicity targets.

Any support will be highly appreciated by us and the kids that we provide service to. If you have any queries, please feel free to contact me on my phone number or via the email address provided below.

“I AM THE CHANGE” FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN 2019

As some of you already know, it is in our custom to organize end of year celebrations. Check our past events here!

This year, however, after careful consideration, we have decided to tunnel our focus into raising funds for underprivileged children through our partnership with the Love the Kids Foundation.

We strongly believe that EDUCATION is a master KEY that unlocks UNLIMITED OPPORTUNITIES. And, by paying school fees, school uniforms, books, and medical insurance; we believe that these kids have a fair chance to A BRIGHTER FUTURE.

This year, we hope that you will join our #IAmTheChange campaign as we strive to raise US$ 5000 for Love the Kids Foundation. Every dollar raised will be used to provide basic school needs such as school fees, uniforms, books, and health insurance for underprivileged Rwandan kids through our partnership with Love the Kids Foundation.

When ALL of US do a little, together WE CAN do A LOT!

RWANDAN NEW YEAR’S BALL 2018

RNYB-2018.jpg

From the last Rwandan New Year's Ball 2017, we were able to raise enough funds that helped 10 children in need from "Love the Kids Foundation" go back to school this year. And at this last summer's extravaganza in Atlanta, we raised enough funds that will help us increase the number of children that we support from 10 to 15 next year.

Love the Kids foundation has 103 children in need, among which only 25 are supported. At this upcoming new year's ball 2018, with your help, we are hoping to raise more funds and be able to help more children in need go back to school in the coming years.

You can donate by buying a ticket to come to our upcoming Rwandan New Year's Ball 2018 event (half of the proceeds will go to Love the Kids foundation), by buying a 250Effect t-shirt (one t-shirt sale brings in enough funds to support one children through school for a trimester), or by just donating through the website.

Anything you can do, however little, would be a big help. For instance, by just donating $20, you would be sponsoring one child through school for 3 months.

SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA 2017

250Effect is a non-profit organization which aims to connect young Rwandans studying here in the US. 250Effect organizes events, with a purpose, to make a positive impact in our local communities here in the states and back home in Rwanda.

Recently we have wanted to expand our work towards helping Rwanda's underprivileged children with obtaining an education. At last year's New Year's event, we supported the Love the Kids foundation (www.lovethekidsfoundation.org), which assists orphaned children with school fees, medical insurances, uniforms, books, and other necessities. We raised money at the event through fundraising and t-shirt sales. As a result, our efforts provided enough funding to fully support 10 of the children for one whole school year (here attached is a short video of the 10 children that we are sponsoring, along with their stories).

Inspired by the generosity of our attendees, we planned another event this summer in Atlanta, GA in hopes to reach more people and be able to help more children. The event is called "Summer Extravaganza 2017" and will be held on July 1st with the sole purpose to fundraise for the Love the Kids Foundation.

For tickets, donations, and more details, please visit our website www.250effect.com

For those of you who are unable to attend, donations are still possible through t-shirt sales as well as the 250Effect website. Anything you can do, however little, would be greatly appreciated. A single donation of $20 can sponsor one child through school for 3 months.

RWANDAN NEW YEAR’S BALL 2016

NY-Ball-flyer.jpg

As we approach the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016, Rwandans living in the southeastern/western region of the USA are organizing a New Year’s party to celebrate the beginning of New Year among fellow Rwandans. Most people love celebrating New Year’s around family, but with most of the people abroad being away from home, this gathering will ensure that they will still be celebrating it with their second family.

The purpose of this get-together is to implement an occurring event that will help bridge people who live in those ends together. They are hoping that this event will create an environment in which all attendees will establish a firm network that will help them professionally and socially in acclimating to life in the USA or elsewhere. As one of the organizers told us, “this is going to be a time to connect, reunite, share and learn from each other. Since New Year’s Day is symbolic for new beginnings, we believe that this is a perfect time in which to hold this event.” The organizing committee is working hard to make sure that this event will be as fun and informative as possible. Their plan includes a formal dinner with Rwandan cuisine, recognition of some of the attendees who accomplished remarkable stepping stones, and of course a lot of fun and great music all night.

If you live in the US and would like to celebrate the beginning of 2016 the Rwandan way, please consider attending this event! For more details, visit their facebook page “US-based Rwandan Community”, and follow them on Instagram @rwandancommunity and twitter @USBasedRwandans.
